This Berber carpet, called Azilal, gets its name from the Azilal region in Morocco where it was handcrafted on a traditional wooden loom. Its patterns represent the weaver's moods, loves, and sorrows at the time of creation. Once this colorful Berber carpet is created, she will make another one completely different, based on her emotions at that moment. Each piece is therefore unique. This Berber carpet represents over a month of weaving. Watch a video to see how THEM Berber carpets are created by clicking here. Our carpets with a white background and colorful designs always have a white wool background. The colors can be either cotton or wool. The very bright colors are usually cotton, while the colors with a more natural look are wool. Our fully colored carpets are 100% wool. DELIVERY All packages are shipped from France. Keep in mind that these historically rich pieces are not primarily intended as decorative objects. Berber women weave and use them as blankets or rugs for insulation. The exceptional quality of the weaving allows Berber carpets to stand the test of time and age very well. To maintain it, you can vacuum it once a week at most to avoid damaging the wool. If you cannot shake it, turn it over for a few hours once a month to allow deep-seated dust to fall off. In case of a stain, pat it immediately with a cloth dampened with water, often that is sufficient. Otherwise, add some white vinegar or Marseille soap with plenty of water.Learn more
