This Berber rug, known as Azilal, gets its name from the Azilal region in Morocco where it was handcrafted on a traditional wooden loom. Its patterns represent the weaver's moods, loves, and sorrows at the time of its creation. Once this colorful Berber rug is made, she will create another one completely different, based on her current emotions. Each piece is therefore unique. This Berber rug represents over a month of weaving. Discover how Them Berber rugs are created in a video by clicking here. Our rugs with a white background and colorful designs always have a white wool background. The colors can be either cotton or wool. The very bright colors are generally in cotton, while the colors that have a more natural look are in wool. Our fully colored rugs are 100% wool. See the return conditions here Surprisingly, Berber rugs are easy to maintain. Keep in mind that these historically rich pieces are not primarily intended as decorative objects. Berber women weave and use them as blankets or rugs for insulation. The exceptional quality of the weaving allows Berber rugs to withstand the test of time and age very well. To maintain it, you can vacuum it once a week at most to avoid damaging the wool. If you can't shake it, turn it over for a few hours once a month, and all the deep-seated dust will fall out. In case of a stain, gently dab it with a cloth dampened with water; often, this is sufficient. Otherwise, add some white vinegar or Marseille soap with plenty of water.Learn more
