This Berber rug known as Azilal gets its name from the Azilal region in Morocco where it was handcrafted on a traditional wooden loom. Its patterns reflect the weaver's moods, loves, and sorrows at the time of creation. Once this colorful Berber rug is made, she will create another one completely different, based on her current emotions. Each piece is therefore unique. This Berber rug represents over a month of weaving. Watch a video on how THEM Berber rugs are created by clicking here. Our rugs with a white background and colorful designs are always made with a white wool background. The colors can be either cotton or wool. The very bright colors are usually cotton, while the more natural-looking colors are wool. Our fully colored rugs are 100% wool. DELIVERY All packages are sent from France. Keep in mind that these historically laden pieces are not primarily intended as decorative objects. Berber women weave and use them as blankets or mats for insulation. The exceptional quality of the weaving allows Berber rugs to withstand time and age very well. To maintain it, you can vacuum it once a week at most to avoid agitating the wool. If you can't shake it, turn it over for a few hours once a month to let any deep-seated dust fall out. In case of a stain, pat it immediately with a cloth dampened with water, often this is sufficient. Otherwise, add rubbing alcohol or Marseille soap with plenty of water.Learn More
