This Berber carpet called Boujad gets its name from the region of Boujad in Morocco where it was handcrafted on a traditional wooden loom. Its patterns represent the weaver's moods, loves, and sorrows at the time of its creation. They are recognizable by their colors weathered by the sun and are pieces that bring a lot of character to an interior.

Surprisingly, Berber carpets are easy to maintain. Keep in mind that these historically rich pieces are not primarily intended as decorative objects. Berber women weave and use them as blankets or rugs for insulation. The exceptional quality of the weaving allows Berber carpets to withstand the test of time and age very well.

To maintain it, you can vacuum it once a week at most to avoid aggressing the wool. If you can't shake it, turn it over for a few hours once a month, all deep-seated dust will fall off. In case of a stain, pat it immediately with a cloth soaked in water, often this is sufficient. Otherwise, add some rubbing alcohol or Marseille soap with plenty of water.
